Why does God delay?

Lord, hear my prayer
|
- The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
- He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside
the still waters.
- He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.
- Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
- Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:

The Lord is my Shepherd
|

- One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I

His temple.

me; He shall set me high upon a rock.
- And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around

In times of trouble
|
Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance
of his holiness.
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping

Obtaining mercy

Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy, To deliver their soul from death, And to

Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have
trusted in His holy name.

God watches over me
|
The Angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers
them.
Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed

God knows all about me and is always
with me

The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him
in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He
also will hear their cry and save them. (Ps 145.18-19) |

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him,

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the
Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, neither faints nor is weary.
There is no searching of His understanding.
He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases
strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall,
But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their
strength;
- they shall mount up with wings like eagles,
- they shall run and not be weary,
- they shall walk and not faint. (Isa 40.28-31)

kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven,

And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given

Why I should glory in my tribulations
|
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that
we are children of God, and if children, then heirs heirs of God
and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall
be revealed in us. (Rom 8.16-18) |
I am God's child
|
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know
what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit
Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot
be uttered. (Rom 8.26) |
Holy Spirit joins in my prayers

And we know that all
things work together for good to those who love God, to those
who are the called according to His purpose. (Rom 8.28) |
God works everything for my good
|
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor
angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other
created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Rom 8.38-39) |

God is faithful, who will not allow you to be
tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will

with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the
peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your

God said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power
is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's
power may rest on me.
That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties.

died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in

who have fallen asleep (died), lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and
rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
- For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are
alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep (dead).
- For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with
the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And
the dead in Christ will rise first.
- Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught
up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
- And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
- Therefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thes 4.13-18)

The glorious Rapture of God's children
|
Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through
the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For
we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are,
yet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of
need. (Heb 4.14-16) |
God has experienced my suffering
|
Therefore He (Jesus) is also able to save to the uttermost those who
come to God through Him, since He ever lives to
make intercession for them. (Heb 7.25) |

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of
witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author
and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before
Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged
in your souls. (Heb 12.1-3) |
I must run life's race with endurance
|
My brethren, count
it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the
testing of your faith produces patience.
But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. (James 1.2-4) |

- and undefiled

- reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation
ready to be revealed in the last time.
In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if
need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious
than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation
of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with
joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith the salvation of your souls. (1 Pet 1.3-9)

God

For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good

- he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.

- Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor
gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
- Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
- So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the
field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not
arrayed like one of these.
- Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is,
and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
- Therefore do not worry, saying, `What shall we eat?' or `What
shall we drink?' or `What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father
knows that you need all these things.
- But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things shall be added to you.
- Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry
about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." (Mt 6.25-34)
