Three Codes of Conduct for the War on Terrorism |
||
America is now engaged in the war on terrorism. Even as you read this, the brave men and women of our Armed Forces are putting their lives on the line in defense of our nation, our people, and our way of life. Bible Bell has published this page so that you may better understand the FULL EXTENT of the courage, will, and determination of our Nation's fighting forces. This brief page is in three parts, as explained in the right-hand column. We urge you to read carefully, and meditate upon, all three of them. |
Part I
is the Code of Conduct for our military personnel. Every member of the Armed Forces is trained in this code, and
has agreed to keep it. Part II is the Bible's code of conduct for any and all battles by a God-fearing nation. We believe you will agree that America's solemn vows, as to HOW we will conduct the war on terrorism, are in full accord with these Biblical guidelines. Part III is yet another code of conduct from the Bible. This code applies to YOU as a Christian, for you also have a critically important battle to fight. Please lend your personal moral support to our Armed Forces, and pray for them always. |

IV If I become a prisoner of war, I will keep faith with my fellow prisoners. I will give no information or take part in any action which might be harmful to my comrades. If I am senior, I will take command. If not, I will obey the lawful orders of those appointed over me and will back them up in every way. V When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am required to give name, rank, service number and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause. VI I will never forget that I am an American, fighting for freedom, responsible for my actions, and dedicated to the principles which made my country free. I will trust in my God and in the United States of America. |
